There are many great places to eat and snack in Pamplona and around the surrounding countryside all the way north to the ocean. However, a fiesta specialty are the “garroticos” of Pamplona, a pastry unique when compare to the whole world.

I have just finished running — with a thousand like-minded souls from around the world — down a half-mile of medieval city streets while being pursued by a half-dozen half-ton wild Spanish fighting bulls.

Nothing pleases us more than see old friends, and making new friends out in the plazas and on the cobblestones in Pamplona.

Every morning, we will be out in front of the town hall, or ayuntamiento. If you can see the face of the clock, you should be able to find us.

We are staying the Hotel Maissonave on c/Nueva, but you probably will rarely find us there. After the morning encierro, we usually make our way to Café Iruña for breakfast. Join us anytime. Check the beach in San Sebastian, too.
